IH Educational Trust
IH London is an Educational Trust. We’re not accountable to shareholders or driven by profits. As an Educational Trust any profits, or surplus, we make go towards promoting better education for all in our field. We do this by investing in improving standards in language teaching and language teacher training throughout the world. So the thing that we’re passionate about, that we’re the best at, that we have 60 years’ experience of doing - teaching languages and language teachers - is the very reason we exist.
In addition, we contribute to several UK projects and initiatives.
Crisis is the UK’s national charity for single homeless people. They're dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change.
International House London trains highly skilled homeless people who need a good IELTS score to get into paid employment.
We provide funding for six IATEFL scholarships to enable teachers from other countries to attend the annual IATEFL conference.

STAR (Student Action for Refugees) is the national charity of 5,000 students working to improve the lives of refugees in the UK.
In 2012 we started a new partnership with STAR to develop language teaching support for volunteers from over 30 university groups across the UK.
International House Trust
International House Trust provides a substantial programme of free or low-cost lessons both in English as a Foreign Language and in Modern Languages to disadvantaged people in London, giving access to those who might not be able to afford the full cost of courses. Those benefiting include unemployed people, au pairs and others who can demonstrate their need.
Each year around 3,000 - 3,500 students attend our practice courses. These courses are provided by supervised trainee teachers as part of their own training. All other programmes are taught by our fully qualified IH London trainers.
