Alan Cargyl

Alan Cargyl was previously an Assistant Director of Studies in International House, Poland. In his ten years at the Executive Centre, Alan has been a frequent contributor at Conferences and other events for teachers. His qualifications include: BA (Hons) & RSA/UCLES DTEFLA.

Alastair Douglas

Alastair Douglas

Alastair Douglas has a degree in Estate Management from Oxford Polytechnic (now Oxford Brooks University). Before becoming a teacher he worked in the property industry. He changed career in 1997 and since then has taught or trained teachers in Japan, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Peru. He has worked at IH London since 2001 where he is a teacher and CELTA/Delta teacher trainer. He is an examiner for IELTS and Delta Module 3 and a CELTA assessor. Alastair holds an MA in ELT and Applied Linguistics from King’s College, London. In his free time he enjoys cycling, yoga and real ale.

Andy Cox

Andy Cox

Andy Cox has a degree in Latin American studies from Middlesex University. This led him to Havana, Cuba, where he studied for a year. He has also lived and worked in Spain, Andorra, and Sicily and has always enjoyed travelling. Andy first started teaching English here in London, and joined us here at International House after completing his CELTA in 2002. He now works as a teacher, teacher trainer and IELTS examiner. In his free time he enjoys running, cooking and doing DIY.

Anne Timson

Anne Timson

Anne studied law at Oxford, after which she made this the centre of a career in English Language Teaching. She is a CELTA trainer, an examiner for LCCI and Goldsmith’s College, and has written for the Open University and IH World Organisation. Her qualifications include RSA Dip TEFL, BA (Hons.) Jurisprudence.

Annie Thomson

Annie Thomson

Annie Thomson has a degree in Hispanic and Latin Studies from the University of Nottingham. She also holds an MA in Latin American Studies from the University of London. During her studies she spent a year teaching in Ecuador where she first became interested in teaching English as a foreign language. Since then she has lived and taught across Latin America. As well as working as a teacher and teacher trainer, she is also an IELTS examiner.
