Since its creation International House has been a pioneering force in the field of
teacher training, offering the first qualification
for Teachers of English as a Foreign Language during a time when the industry was just developing.
International House London now trains hundreds of new and experienced language teachers
every year, finding employment for many of them in the affiliated schools abroad.
The fact that many of our teachers at IH London are also teacher trainers means that there
is a high level of expertise and in-depth knowledge of different teaching approaches. New teaching
materials are constantly being developed and many of the most widely-used coursebooks (eg the
Headway series, Cutting Edge and True to Life) were
written by IH London staff.
