Cambridge ILEC Legal English Course

Our Cambridge ILEC Legal English Course is ideal for newly-practicing lawyers wanting to demonstrate their English proficiency. It’s also useful for post-graduate law students who need a recognised qualification in English.

You will study English for lawyers in a small, focussed group of no more than six. You need a level of English equivalent to upper intermediate (CEF B2) or above, with a working knowledge of your country’s legal system.

Course overview

  • Cambridge ILEC Legal English Course will help you communicate precisely and correctly using general and legal English at work.
  • English for law students covers the vocabulary you need for meetings, negotiations, advocacy, telephone communication, drafting notes and memos, company law, contracts, property law, intellectual property, sale of goods and giving presentations.
  • This is an intensive course with six 55-minute lessons every weekday for three weeks. Total lesson time per week: 27 hours and 30 minutes.
  • The ILEC qualification is recognised by the European Company Lawyers Association, the European Law Students Association, the International Association of Young Lawyers and the European Young Bar Association.
  • Minimum entry age is 21.
