This qualification has been designed as the appropriate introductory qualification for those seeking a 'stepping stone' to qualifications that entitle them to teach in either an 'Associate Teacher' or 'Full Teacher' role in the Lifelong Learning Sector in England. It confers the newly required 'threshold license to teach' for all new teachers in the Further Education (FE) Sector.

The City & Guilds 7303 course is designed to enable candidates to:
Adopt an integrated approach to the theory and practice
of teaching
Reflect on their own previous/current levels of
experience, practice and skills, and areas for
development
Identify principles of learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation
Develop confidence, communication and inter-personal
skills
Develop and awareness of their professional role and
responsibilities
Course Features
Own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in
relation to teaching
Appropriate teaching and learning approaches in the
specialist area
Session planning skills and demonstration of those skills
How to deliver inclusive sessions which motivate learners
The use of different assessment methods and the need
for record keeping
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18. It is generally
recommended that candidates should be aged 20 or
over, but candidates aged between 18 and 20 can be
accepted at our discretion
Applicants must have an awareness of language and a
competence in their language, both written and spoken,
that enables them to undertake the course and prepare
for teaching a range of levels
Applicants must have the potential to develop the
necessary skills to become effective teachers and to
complete successfully the written assignments and the
assessment of teaching practice
City & Guilds
The City & Guilds 7303 is awarded to candidates who have completed the course and the assessment successfully.
There are no examinations at the end of the course.
Trainees are always kept informed of their progress during
the course.
