The course is aimed at experienced and practising teachers of English who wish to explore the underlying principles and practical applications of current ELT methodologies and approaches.

The course concentrates on areas such as

  • Task-Based Learning
  • the Lexical Approach
  • syllabus design
  • teaching large/mixed ability groups
  • testing and examinations
  • motivating learners in the classroom
  • technology and language teaching
  • At the end of the course you will have:

  • developed an awareness of current ELT principles and practice
  • developed an ability to critically examine current ELT principles
  • developed the ability to evaluate current trends in relation to your own teaching context
  • acquired a range of practical teaching ideas and materials
  • Entry requirements

    The minimum level of English required is the Cambridge Advanced Certificate (CAE)
