The course is aimed at experienced and practising teachers who already have a good standard of written and spoken English and who wish to develop their language and teaching skills further.
The course will include:
developing fluency in spoken English and building confidence in using English
reviewing and clarifying grammatical areas according to course participants’ needs
extending lexical range and improving pronunciation at the word and sentence level
developing reading, writing, listening and speaking skills
mastering classroom language and managing classroom activities
planning effective lessons for different types of learners
techniques for introducing and practising new language
exploiting different media (e.g. video, computers, the internet)
adapting teaching approaches and techniques to participants with specific needs and to different ages
At the end of the course you will have:
explored certain principles of English language teaching
experimented with classroom techniques through peer teaching
improved your own language skills
Entry requirements
The minimum level of English required is the Cambridge First Certificate (CFC)
