This course is aimed at:
teachers who are involved in teaching English as a second or additional language as part of the curriculum in Primary Schools
The course concentrates on:
giving participants a broader awareness of issues involved in teaching English to children aged between 5 and 10
examining a range of approaches in Primary School education
evaluating a range of materials currently available for this age group
enabling participants to select, adapt and devise materials for this age group
effective class management
English songs, games and stories appropriate to the Primary classroom
ideas for improving pronunciation
By the end of the course participants will have:
a wider selection of practical teaching ideas for Primary School classes
more confidence in their own use of English
Entry requirements
Minimum level of English required is the Cambridge First Certificate
