Delta Course (Face to Face)
The Cambridge ESOL Delta Course (Face to Face) is for teachers with at least one year’s experience teaching English as a foreign language. Delta is a diploma in language teaching that will improve your existing skills and teach you new techniques to help with career progression. You need to have a good academic background, hold an initial English teaching certificate, and be at least 21.
Course overview
- The Delta Course (Face to Face) combines seminars and lectures with daily teaching practise. This will improve your understanding of the English language, as well as demonstrating the principles of effective second language English teaching.
- There are three modules. Module One looks at the background to teaching and learning and is assessed with a written exam. Module Two explores professional practice and is assessed with a portfolio of teaching assignments. Module Three is a specialist extended assignment.
- The written exam, held in June or December, comprises two papers of 1.5 hours each. You can take the exam at IH London or another approved exam centre.
- The course is eight weeks long with classes from Monday to Friday; 9-4pm.

Our IH Certificate in TESOL, created specially for overseas teachers, is run along similar lines as the CELTA with workshops, seminars and teaching practice.
