Module 2 Delta Course: Developing Professional Practice

The Cambridge ESOL Delta Course is a diploma in language teaching. It is for experienced English teachers who want to improve their skills and develop new techniques for career progression. Because our Delta courses are modular, they can be taken in any order and are separately certificated by Cambridge.

The Module 2 Delta Course: Developing Professional Practice is designed for those who already have Module 1 or have a Masters in ELT/ESOL/Applied Linguistics but want more practical experience. The course will help you develop professionally by focusing on your own classroom management. It will also help to deepen your understanding of language, skills and the principles underlying different methodologies and approaches

To qualify for Module 2 you need:

  • a minimum of one year’s experience teaching English as a foreign language to adults of different levels,
  • a good academic background, and
  • an initial English teaching certificate.

Course overview:

  • Module 2 is delivered through workshops, seminars, lectures and guided written work. Practical teaching skills are honed through teaching practise every day.
  • The course is six weeks long with classes from Monday to Friday. You will study for 5.5 hours each day: three hours input and 2.5 hours of teaching practise and feedback.
  • There is a fee of approximately £150 to take the Cambridge ESOL examination as part of Module 2.
  • The minimum course entry age is 21.
