Examinations offered

International House

  • Cambridge First Certificate (FCE)
  • Cambridge Advanced Certificate (CAE)
  • Cambridge Proficiency Certificate (CPE)
  • Cambridge English Language Skills (CELS)

    We advise all students who would like a certificate aimed at more communicative skills, rather than a grammar-based test, to take this examination. The best preparation is our Standard General English programme.

  • IELTS Test
  • TOEIC every month (except in August)

    • If you are not familiar with the range of English language examinations, our Directors of Studies are always available to give you more information.

    Note for IELTS and Cambridge examinations

    International House

  • Cambridge examination courses prepare for Cambridge First Certificate (FCE), Advanced (CAE) or Proficiency (CPE) examinations.

  • An entrance test is required for Cambridge courses and is sent to you when you enroll. If you book a course a long time in advance the entrance test will arrive about 6 weeks before the course starting date. Students already in London should contact the school to arrange a test.

  • IELTS Test Applications must be received a minimum of four weeks before the course starting dates. An entrance test is also required for the IELTS course.

  • The IELTS test can only be re-taken after 3 months.

  • The actual date of the test may not be known at the time of booking. You should expect to take the test within 2 weeks of the end of the course.
