Executive Centre Tutor Profiles

Many tutors in the Executive Centre have relevant qualifications and experience from other professional areas in addition to their ELT diplomas. Several write books on teaching and speak at conferences. Others have a background in management, finance or law.

Like our clients, they are highly motivated, and familiar with the demands of the business world.

We select tutors for courses in accordance with the needs and topic areas required by a group or an individual. Feedback constantly indicates that they provide an unrivalled service to our clients.

	Peter Ball Peter Ball has worked in Italy and as a training officer and negotiator for ELF oil. His qualifications are: Dip. Ed, RSA CTEFLA, Cert Industrial Training. Peter speaks French and Italian.

	Melanie Bryant Melanie Bryant's wide-ranging experience areas include business English teacher training, English for IELTS and project-based General Executive courses. She has been with IH for thirteen years. Her qualifications include: BA (Hons) MA (Spanish) RSA/UCLES Dip TEFLA. Melanie speaks Spanish and German.

	Michael Bundy Michael Bundy was the academic manager of another major business English centre before joining IH. He has taught widely in Japan, Mexico, Singapore and France in a career spanning 33 years. His qualifications include: MA , PGCE, RSA/UCLES Dip TEFLA. He speaks French and Italian.

	Alan Cargyl Alan Cargyl has been an Assistant Director of Studies in International House, Poland. In his six years at the Executive Centre, Alan has been a frequent contributor at Conferences and other events for teachers. His qualifications include: BA (Hons) & RSA/UCLES DTEFLA.

	Paul Emmerson Paul Emmerson taught for several years in Portugal, where he became interested in business English. He is the author of “Business English Builder”, a resource book for teachers, as well as the very successful "Email English". He has been working at the Centre for nine years. His qualifications include: BA, RSA/UCLES DTEFLA. He speaks Portuguese.

	Nick Hamilton Nick Hamilton has been a Director of Studies with IH in Turkey and has also taught and trained teachers in Germany, Poland, Lithuania and China. He is a teacher trainer on DELTA, CELTA and LCCI CertTEB courses, and has been with IH for 15 years. His qualifications include: MA (Hons), RSA/UCLES Dip TEFLA. He speaks German and Turkish.

	Paul Hibbert Paul Hibbert has a background in chemistry and geology. In his fifteen years with IH, he has worked as Assistant Director of Studies and contributed to BESIG conferences. 	Charles Lowe Charles Lowe has been teaching Business English since 1984. He has also spent seven years in top management, and is qualified in alternative medicine. Apart from Business English classes, he teaches on our Marketing, Finance and Law courses, and trains teachers in business English. His qualifications include: MA Educ, PGCE and RSA Dip TEFLA.

Ruth Taylor After reading English at Cambridge, Ruth spent a year working in Japan, as well as doing voluntary work in Africa and the Middle-East. Her acting background means she has an especially effective approach to pronunciation and voice training. She has been with the Executive Centre for two years, and is an IELTS examiner. Her qualifications are: M.A. (Hons), TESOL (Trinity), LCCI Cert TEB. She speaks French and basic Japanese.
