How to register online
1) Apply online
To register for your IELTS test online, please complete our application form and upload your identity document on the British Council IELTS website using the following link: https://ielts.britishcouncil.org/ihlondon.
Please read the instructions and use the Find a Test Date search on the top-left to choose your test date, location and module. Make sure you check the speaking test date as well.
If you cannot upload your identity document on the IELTS website please email it to:

2) Make your payment online
After you have submitted your online application, you can make your online payment. You should do this as soon as you can after you apply.
You must make your payment within 24hrs of making your application.
3) Confirmation Letter
Once your application has been received and payment processed, you will be sent a confirmation letter via email. Please check your email inbox as well as your junk inbox for any correspondence from our office.
The confirmation letter will include:
- your receipt
- important test day information
- a timetable for the day
- a map to the morning venue
How to register by post or in person
You can also register to sit an IELTS test by post or in person. If you would like to register in person, drop into the school and give your completed application for, ID documents and payment to reception.
If you need to speak to an IELTS officer you can come to International House London during visiting hours, Monday to Friday from 10.30 - 11.30.
Alternatively you can download and complete the IELTS test application form and return it to us by post together with a copy of your ID document and a completed IELTS credit card payment form.

2) Gather the required information
Include the full test fee and a photocopy of your passport information page (the page with the photo, expiry date and your signature on it) or a photocopy of your or EU ID card (front and back). Cheques and postal orders should be made payable to International House Trust.

3) Submit your application
Deliver your application in person, or post your application to:

4) Confirmation Letter

International House London processes a very high volume of applications so it can take up to a week for us to process your application and send your confirmation.
