Cutting Through the Jargon

TEFL, CELTA, ELT, what do all these abbreviations mean and which course do you need? ELT stands for English Language Teaching, once commonly referred to as TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). TEFL isn't the actual qualification. It is the umbrella term for the industry. The qualifications are, for example, the Cambridge ESOL CELTA or the Delta.
