Our Chinese General Programme: Advanced is an 11 week evening course for people who want a high level Chinese course in London. Classes are once a week on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm-8.30pm.
The Advanced programme is ideal if you can communicate quite fluently even in highly specialised situations. You will be studying Chinese in a small group and your teacher will use group exercises, discussions and authentic material to increase your language knowledge and confidence.

Advanced Chinese course overview
- Studying Chinese at International House is a dynamic and interactive experience. Your teacher will speak in Chinese and use teaching aids to help you understand.
- We will assess your ability at lesson one, and continually monitor your progress throughout the course.
- General courses are 11 weeks long and there are four 11 week terms each year. Booking more than one term is cheaper, but courses must be taken back to back.
- The average class size is 6-8 students (max 14), and the minimum age is 16.

How we teach
Learning a language at International House London focuses on speaking and doing rather than book learning. From lesson one your teacher will speak to you in the target language. Pictures, role play, props and film will help you understand quickly, making the learning experience dynamic and enjoyable. All our teachers are native speakers so you'll have the added benefit of an authentic insight into the culture and countries behind the language.
