Standard English Course Overview

• 15 lessons per week (55 minutes each), Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 12.00 with a 15 minute break. Total lesson time each week: 13 hours and 45 minutes.
• This course helps you practise English language skills, with an emphasis on improving your fluency and building confidence when speaking English.
• Teachers use coursebooks, authentic material and out-of-class activities in their lessons.
• If your course is 24 weeks or more you can transfer to a Cambridge Examinations or IELTS preparation course at no extra cost, depending on your level.
• The maximum class size is 14 students - with a class average of ten.
• Minimum entry age for this course is 16 years old.

Language Levels

This course meets the general English needs of students from Elementary level (CEF A2) through to Advanced level (CEF C2). Check our English language levels chart or take our English Language Level test to find out which level you are.

Visas

Because the course is less than 15 hours a week we understand it does not meet the requirements of the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) for a General Student Visa (GSV). However, students can apply for a Student Visitor Visa (SVV) or Extended Student Visitor Visa to attend this course.
