Elementary French (General Programme)

Elementary French (General Programme) is an 11 week evening course for people who want to learn to speak French in London. French classes are once a week on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm-8.30pm.

This level of French tuition is ideal if you have already completed a Beginners French course, or introductory level course. You will study in a small group, with lots of pair work and tasks to practise the French conversation skills you need for real-life scenarios.

We offer French classes at eight different levels so you can progress at your own pace as your basic French conversation improves. Take our online French test if you are not sure which level to start at.

Elementary French: Course overview

• French language teaching at International House is dynamic and interactive. Your teacher will speak in French throughout the lesson and use pictures, audio clips, video and internet resources to help you understand.
• We will assess your ability at lesson one, as well as monitoring your progress throughout the course, to make sure you are studying French at the right level.
• General French language courses are 11 weeks long and there are four 11 week terms each year.
• The average class size is 6-8 students (max 14), and the minimum age is 16.
