Our French Survival Course: One lesson a week is ideal if you want to learn to speak French for the first time. (You can study Survival French twice a week if you prefer).
Over five weeks, we will teach you the basic words and phrases to get more out of a holiday or business trip. French teaching at International House is dynamic and interactive: your teacher will speak French and use props and pictures to help you understand.

Course overview
- We focus on simple French conversation skills to help give you practical language skills for travelling and socialising. Each lesson develops a language skill for a different tourist scenario.
- The course runs once a week on Monday evenings from 6.30-8.30pm for five weeks (10 lessons).
- The average class size is 6-8 students (maximum 14) and the minimum entry age is 16 years old.

How we teach
Learning a language at International House London focuses on speaking and doing rather than book learning. From lesson one your teacher will speak to you in the target language. Pictures, role play, props and film will help you understand quickly, making the learning experience dynamic and enjoyable. All our teachers are native speakers so you'll have the added benefit of an authentic insight into the culture and countries behind the language.

Take our online test to discover your language level and ability. When you arrive at IH London we will assess you in a first lesson (other languages) to ensure that you are studying with students of a similar level.
