Elementary German (General Programme)

Elementary German (General Programme) is an 11 week evening course for people who want to learn German in London. Elementary German lessons are once a week on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm-8.30pm.

This level of German tuition is ideal if you have already completed a German Beginners course, or introductory level course. You will study in a small group, with lots of pair work and tasks to practise the German conversation skills you need for real-life scenarios.

We offer German classes at eight different levels so you can progress at your own pace as your basic German improves. Take our online German test if you are not sure which level to start at.

Elementary German: Course overview

• German language classes at International House are dynamic and interactive. Your teacher will speak in German throughout the lesson and use pictures, audio clips, video and internet resources to help you understand.
• We will assess your ability at lesson one, as well as monitoring your progress throughout the course, to make sure that you always learn German at the right level.
• General German language courses are 11 weeks long and there are four 11 week terms each year.
• The average class size is 6-8 students (max 14), and the minimum age is 16.
