Our Beginner Italian (General Programme) is an 11 week evening language course for people who want to learn Italian in London. Classes are once a week on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm-8.30pm.

You will study Italian in a small group and your teacher will use lots of interactive devices to help you understand basic words and phrases. Our beginner Italian classes are an excellent introduction to the language, with lots of opportunity in class for Italian conversation practice and listening tasks.
We offer Italian classes at eight different levels so you can progress at your own pace as your basic Italian conversation improves.

Beginner Italian: Course Overview
- Beginner Italian lessons at International House are dynamic and interactive. Your teacher will speak in Italian and use pictures, video clips, props and games to help you understand the language.
- We will assess your ability at lesson one, as well as monitoring your progress throughout the course, to make sure you are studying Italian at the right level.
- General Italian language courses are 11 weeks long and there are four 11 week terms each year. Booking more than one term is cheaper if you take the courses back to back. To do this, select a 22, 33 or 44 week course duration at the level you want to start at, and you can arrange to move up a class each term once you are here.
- The average class size is 6-8 students (max 14), and the minimum age is 16.

How we teach
Learning a language at International House London focuses on speaking and doing rather than book learning. From lesson one your teacher will speak to you in the target language. Pictures, role play, props and film will help you understand quickly, making the learning experience dynamic and enjoyable. All our teachers are native speakers so you'll have the added benefit of an authentic insight into the culture and countries behind the language.
