Past and present international house staff, together with friends and partners from throughout the EFL world, gathered together in London earlier this month to mark our 50th year of teacher training.

Nearly 200 people attended an evening reception held in London on 18 May 2012 to celebrate, exchange memories and look to the future.

Brita Haycraft – wife of IH founder John Haycraft – commented: ‘I wasn't surprised that all the guests would exclaim and fall into each other's arms, again and again. They always have done. To me, if all is well at IH, all is well with the world!’

Celebrations continue this year with our Jubilee lecture series – with discussions from Diane Larson-Freeman and Guy Cook in June and November 2012 – while the International House World Organisation is offering 50 free teacher training scholarships around the world.
