Student life is as much about making new friends as it is about learning. At IH London, we understand the importance of taking your friendships, and new language skills, out of the classroom and into the real world.
Explore, make friends, and practise
The social programme is designed to help you explore the various sights and sounds that London has to offer. It has the bonus of helping you cement your classroom friendships and put your new language skills into action.
A different activity every day
Each day there’s a different activity to enjoy. It might be a night out at a pub, club, bar or restaurant or a visit to one of London’s many museums, galleries, theatres or cinemas. For the more energetic, it could be a walking tour of famous sights, a night out bowling or an organised game of football.
Enjoy learning in London
Whatever activities you choose the social programme will help you make most of your learning experience in London. And the best thing is, the more you enjoy yourself, the more likely you are to remember what you've learnt.
A new social programme every two weeks
Each two weeks a new social programme calendar of events is available from the social programme desk or reception, or can be downloaded below. You can book events at the social programme desk on a first come first served basis. Be quick, the best events fill up fast!

Weekend and day trips
Our social programme can also help you see more of the UK and Europe with weekend and day trips to a variety of destinations. Weekend trip destinations include Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Paris and days out are organised to places like Brighton, Bath, Stonehenge and Cambridge.
Our weekend and day trips are booked with The English Bus, LiL Adventures and International Friends who take the hard work out of seeing the sights outside of London. More information about the trips they offer can be found on their websites. IH students receive discounts when booking through the social programme desk.
