Student Self Access Centre for trainee teachers

Trainees can access hardware such as interactive whiteboards (IWBs), video and audio recording devices, headsets and microphones alongside printers, scanners and PCs equipped with the full Microsoft Office suite.
An interactive whiteboard (IWB) is a touch-sensitive projection screen that allows you to control a computer directly, by touching the board rather than using a keyboard or mouse (although these can still be used).
There are two IWBs in the self access area, CELTA and IH TESOL trainees can use these to practice lessons and gain confidence in using the technology.
Regular training session are held on IBW use and support staff are available to provide advice throughout the day.
SMART software for interactive whiteboards

You are also able to use the SMART software, which includes SMART Notebook, SMART Recorder and SMART Video Player. Thereby you can create video- and audio files by using provided webcams and headsets.
To help you get the most out of the software you can access tutorials on how to use SMART tools.
