Move through the Cambridge exams step by step and gain a lifelong English qualification  

 

This course is for students who are at B2 level and want to prepare for a qualification that shows they have the language skills needed to communicate confidently in an English-speaking environment. Cambridge qualifications don’t expire, so you will keep it forever. 

Studying with a Cambridge exam centre, you’ll receive practical instruction using authentic test materials to help prepare for your exam. Online, evening and weekend courses also available 

 

Booking your Cambridge exam 

We are an accredited exam centre, so we will book your exam for you, and you can sit it at the school. Many of our teachers have extensive assessment experience so they know how to teach for the best results.  

You can book your Cambridge exam online or use our in-school service to book your test. The Cambridge test fee is not included in the preparation course fees.  

 

Hours per week  

Lessons: 20 per week 
Lesson time:  20 lessons = 18 hours 20 minutes per week. 

 20 hrs (12:15-13.10 & 13:15-16:15)

Bank holidays 

There will be no lessons taking place on UK Bank Holidays when the school will be closed. Fees are not pro rata for weeks where bank holidays take place.

The Cambridge B2 First focuses on language development to improve your English level, before you take the exam. 

During the course you will:

  • Be given the exam techniques and test-taking strategies that you need to pass the exam
  • Have a full practice exam during the course and receive feedback and advice from your teacher
  • Discuss a wide range of topics to improve your fluency and accuracy
  • Focus on different aspects of writing to develop your ability to write in different styles
  • Listen and understand the main ideas on a wide variety of topics
  • Read a range of texts, including news items, reports and articles
  • Develop your range of language to help in each part.

This course is for students who want to improve their English language level across all four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) in advance of taking the Cambridge B2 First test, and learn techniques for the test in order to achieve their best result.

  • Write clear paragraphs with sufficient supporting evidence  
  • Write several different types of writing, e.g. essays, reports, reviews, letters and emails 
  • Use a variety of methods to link ideas in academic writing  
  • Use a range of cohesive devices in writing 
  • Identify task questions and write appropriate responses using a relevant examples 

Life Skills   

  • Set learning goals and plan your personal progress
