Who is this course for?
People of all levels who want to improve their English, with a specific focus on English speaking skills. Choose from morning or afternoon classes, with plenty time to relax and explore outside of the classroom.
There is no compulsory exam, but this course does work very well with LanguageCert Speaking Exam Preparation to prove your speaking skills with a qualification.
What will I learn?
The course follows the same programme as General English 15 morning or afternoon, with the addition of special focus classes that enhance your English speaking skills.
The following focus classes are examples for your daily 13.30-14.25 lessons.
Speaking and grammar
A2 (elementary) to C1 (advanced)
Become more accurate and fluent when speaking in English. Students will work together to explore and review grammar in context through role-plays, discussions and presentations. The topics, language areas and materials will reflect the interests and needs of the class.
Speaking and writing
A2 (elementary) to C1 (advanced)
Enhance your writing skills with more accurate language. Gain confidence producing a wide variety of written materials such as creative writing, proposals, reviews, surveys, blogs, CVs, and discussion essays. Students will also be encouraged to analyse texts.
Speaking and vocabulary
A2 (elementary) to C1 (advanced)
Expand your range and accurate use of vocabulary when speaking and discussing ideas. Become a more confident speaker with tasks that encourage problem-solving, discussion and opinions. Sample topics include the media, food and culture, and the environment.
Speaking and listening
A2 (elementary) to C1 (advanced)
Focus on your listening skills. Teachers will use a variety of published and authentic materials in order to build confidence at all levels. Sample learning tasks include presentations, short talks, podcasts, interviews and role-plays.
Speaking and reading
B1 (intermediate) to C1 (advanced)
You will evaluate and think more critically about what you are reading, which is an essential skill for academic study and careers. Topics and texts are chosen from a range of materials (for example websites, newspapers, and articles) to generate discussions.
