Course objectives

This is a short, intensive, practical course, focused on the key skills for teaching young learners aged 6-11 years old. It will build on your existing teaching knowledge and give you the confidence to adapt to and enjoy teaching children. 

Course outline

You will learn about the key differences in teaching younger learners vs adults such as:

  • Classroom management techniques
  • Establishing routines
  • How to use rewards effectively
  • Games with aims
  • Responding to discipline issues
  • Managing the parent-teacher relationship

You will also get a practical tool-kit of activities that you can immediately put into use when you start teaching.

This course does not require any assessed teaching practice or assignments.
