Prepare for IELTSYour parent or guardian will need to register you for a test place if you are under 18. We don’t recommend taking IELTS if you are under 16.
Because you’re booking your test at an official British Council IELTS test centre, you get a whole range of benefits, including:
COVID19 POLICY:
If you do not test positive but have Covid-like symptoms or have been in contact with someone who tested positive and you feel uncomfortable sitting the test, you will need to pay a £50 administrative fee for a transfer of your booking. Please note that your booking can only be transferred free of charge upon receipt of proof of a positive Covid test registered through the NHS website or a medical certificate from a GP clearly stating that you were unwell and could not sit the test. If you cancel your test up 24h before your test day, you’ll receive a refund minus an administrative charge (25% of the test fee). If you request a cancellation within 14 days from your payment, up to 24h before your test, you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel less than 24h, there is no refund available.

If you have learning, hearing or visual difficulties, medical conditions you can ask for special assistance. Speak to your local centre for details.
To take a modified version of IELTS – for example, Braille – you’ll need to give us at least three months’ notice.
If you’re entitled for special arrangements to be made – for example, extra time – you’ll need to give us six weeks’ notice.
