Intermediate French Face-to-Face Courses

French Level 15 | Evenings

  • Course Details

French Level 15 is an Intermediate course for students who have studied the French language to a fairly high level. French Level 15 requires that you have previously studied French Level 14 or a course of at least 168 class hours. 

Our French language classes take place at our school in Covent Garden with a qualified, experienced teacher and fellow students. Evening language classes at IH London are dynamic and interactive as the emphasis is on spoken communication, which is achieved through lots of group work and role-plays. At the same time, there is systematic work on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, so that you can improve on all aspects of the language. Your teacher speaks in the target language throughout, so that you can refine your comprehension and listening skills. 

Lessons take place once a week.

French Level 16 is an Intermediate course for students who have studied the French language to a fairly high level. French Level 16 requires that you have previously studied French Level 15 or a course of at least 180 class hours.

French Level 17 is an Intermediate course for students who have been studying the French language for quite some time and who are wanting to progress to a more advanced level. French Level 17 requires that you have previously studied French Level 16 or a course of at least 192 class hours.

DELF B1 Exam Prep Course | Evenings

  • Course Details

 The French DELF B1 course requires a previous knowledge of the French language at B1 level.  

Lessons take place face-to-face, once a week (18:30-20:30) for 6 weeks at our school. 

The course also requires self-study time between sessions.   

Each course must reach a minimum number of 4 students to be confirmed to run. 

Students are required to have completed the equivalent of 180 hours of one-to-one or group classes to before taking the course. If you are unsure of your level, you can take our level test to verify your existing language knowledge. 

 

Course Description

This course is designed to prepare students for the DELF B1 exam. 

This course is designed to provide students with the necessary tools and strategies to approach the DELF B1 exam.  

Important: Successful completion of this course does not guarantee passing the exam. 

By the end of this course, students will be able to: 

 

Reading Comprehension

  • Understand and interpret authentic texts at the B1 level (articles, short stories, emails, simple instructions). 
  • Identify key information and answer multiple-choice questions effectively. 

 

Listening Comprehension

  • Understand spoken French in everyday situations (conversations, news reports, short dialogues). 
  • Accurately complete listening comprehension tasks (multiple-choice, gap-fill, true/false). 

 

Written Expression and Interaction  

  • Write clear and concise texts (emails, short messages, brief essays). 
  • Produce short, guided written responses to questions. 

 

Oral Expression and Interaction

  • Engage in basic conversations on familiar topics. 
  • Express opinions and ask questions.
