Role: Young Learners Operations Executive (5-months Fixed-term contract)

Salary: Up to £22,000 per annum

The Operations Executives are key members of the Young Learners Central Team, responsible for the logistical and operation support of all Young Learner centres. The role will work closely with the Young Learners Operations Manager and Young Learners Academic Manager to ensure the smooth operational delivery of all Young Learners programmes, with a particular focus on customer experience and team support.


Principal Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Young Learners Operations Manager, and in collaboration with the Central Young Learners Team, duties of the role include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Work with the Young Learners Operations Manager to support and assist in the delivery for all courses (specifically UK centres) through collaboration with the Central Young Learners Team
    and other departments.
  • Ensure that programmes are accurately prepared, including planning and organising of attraction visits, transport and transfers.
  • Ensure that Young Learners team members receive timely, effective, and targeted support,including liaising with Young Learners Centre Management Teams in planning and organising excursions and transfer arrangements; sending and restocking merchandise, supplies and equipment to centres.
  • Assist in the recruitment process of qualified and suitable candidates for all operations positions on Young Learner programmes.
  • Assist on the operations preparations for external quality assurance processes, including helping to ensure that the organisation aspires to reach the highest possible goals.
  • Support other members of the Young Learners Central Team with preparation and delivery of all aspects of Young Learner programmes.
  • Act as an ambassador for IH London at all times. 
  • Run allocation and booking reports and liaise third-party suppliers and Centre Management Teams to ensure forecasted figures are consistent within planning and bookings.
  • Liaise with the Student Services team to ensure that all post-booking documents are being recorded as appropriate (medical forms, flight information, active options, etc.) and ensure that Centre
  • Management Teams are kept abreast thereof.
  • Any other reasonable projects or tasks that fall within the potential scope of the role and the capabilities of the post-holder.


Essential education

• Completed degree or pursuing degree, or relevant experience
• Advanced Safeguarding (Level 2) or equivalent

Essential experience and knowledge

• Previous experience in a large team within the EFL industry, ideally within Young Learners
• Wide and varied experience of Young Learner operations, with a good understanding of current developments in EFL
• Flexible to meet the needs of the business and demonstrate a passion for customers and team
• Must be comfortable working in a growing department, with ability to implement change
• Evidence of continuous professional development
• An understanding of duty of care and health & safety responsibilities

Desirable experience and knowledge

• Experience with and comfortable using technology and online student/team management
• Fluency in another language, in addition to English
• Academic qualification
• CRM systems including inputting bookings, creating and running reports, analysing data and maintaining the accuracy of records.
• Previous experience in operations team in language school
• 1 summer season experience as Centre Manager, Activity Manager or Centre Administrator at language school
