General English

Our English for Life programme at IH London focuses on the language and skills you need to communicate well in real-life situations, whether for work, study, travel or simply talking to friends and relatives.

Our courses

If you want to study in a group during daytime weekdays we have three English courses named after the number of lessons a week: 15, 20 and 25. Each lesson is 55 minutes of class.

English 15 classes are in the morning from 9:00 to 12:00, Monday to Friday, including a 15-minute break.

English 20 classes have three streams and are from 09:00 until 12:00 with a 15 minute break and then from 12:15 until 13:10 and offer electives so you can work towards what you need.

Our English 25 classes have three streams: Life, Study or Work and depending on your needs, you can choose which of the electives you prefer. To book the English 25 classes, use the link below and let us know which elective you prefer once you arrive at IH London.

If you need evening classes, we run general English classes twice a week.

If you want to learn really quickly and have a course that is uniquely designed for you, you might want to consider our One-to-One classes. These classes offer complete flexibility as we can schedule according to what suits you.

Develop your English

Our courses are designed to build your confidence and ability in the four language skills: reading; writing; listening and speaking. You will also develop your use of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. We adapt our lessons to the needs of the class and supplement the use of textbooks with authentic materials including digital resources and news articles.

Our English courses are taught at our state-of-the-art language school by skilled and experienced teaching staff. Our teachers are experts in motivating you to develop your skills and confidence.

We favour small classes with an average of 10 students per class to ensure teachers can provide the support you need.

All English language courses at International House London are accredited by the British Council's Accreditation UK quality assurance scheme.
