Focus on Japanese
- There are 128 million Japanese speakers in the world.
- The Japanese name for Japan is Nihon, or Nippon, which translates as ‘land of the rising sun’.
- Japanese uses three different alphabets: Hiragana, which is a traditional Japanese alphabet; Katakana, another Japanese alphabet which is used for foreign words; and Kanji, which are Chinese characters, although the Japanese meaning is often different.
- Japanese is one of the most unique languages of the world, in that it does not have any obvious links to any other languages.

Elementary
If you have a basic knowledge of Japanese, you are ready to move on to our Elementary courses where you'll build upon the foundations and gain a more solid understanding of the language. (LEVELS: 2-8)

Pre-Intermediate
If you have a solid grasp of elementary level vocabulary and grammar, and want to delve deeper into the language, our pre-intermediate courses are a great continuation. (LEVELS: 9-16)

If you are looking to progress to a higher level of Japanese, these courses are for you. Take your language skills to the next level and work on your fluency and confidence with our intermediate level classes. (LEVELS: 17-26)
