Mark started in the role of CEO in January 2019 and has been involved in the ELT industry for over 25 years. He was a teacher and Director of Studies in Poland, Saudi Arabia and China. More recently he was Deputy Chief Executive of English UK and a Principal at a large language school in central London. Mark is also vice-chair of English UK and a trustee and director of the International House World Organisation (IHWO).
Director of Sales and Marketing
Lawrence has over 15 years’ experience in sales, with over 7 years spent in sales for top language schools. In addition to English, he can speak German, and says “working with a diverse range of cultures ensures I’m learning something new on a day-to-day basis.” Lawrence adds, “IH London has been voted London’s no1 school for value and quality. Director of Education
Eleanor Maly, our Director of Education, ensures a great academic experience for every student. Eleanor has 15 years’ experience in English language teaching, eight years as a language teacher and the last seven years in academic director level positions. Eleanor says: “Teaching has always been one of IH London’s strengths: it’s one of the reasons I joined. Our teachers are consistently rated very highly in student feedback and have received points of excellence across the board from the British Council”.
Director of Finance
Vimala Jayaraman is the Director of Finance at IHL. Vimala is a commercially driven and results focused FD with over 20 years of experience in finance, transformation and commercial functions across various sectors. Vimala holds an MBA and is a Fellow of CIMA. Since joining IHL, Vimala is also a member of the Finance Panel at English UK.
Interim Director of Exams
Jason has worked in education for over 25 years in secondary schools and private language schools, in both teaching and management and leadership roles both in the UK and in Germany. He is a keen linguist and speaks German, French and Italian. Jason rejoined IHL in May 2021 as Interim Director of Exams having previously worked as Interim Director of Education. Jason and the exams team are responsible for building relationships with exam boards and ensuring an excellent candidate exam experience across all of our venues in UK, Ireland, Israel and Nigeria.
Director of Young Learner Programmes
Alex has over 15 years’ experience and a wealth of academic and management experience with young learner programmes. During his time at a large school in Edinburgh, he introduced several innovative courses for young learners, including a ground-breaking coding and robotics course. He has also held Operations Director and Director of Customer Experience roles within the industry. Alex is passionate about staff development and organisational culture and strives to enhance the student experience at every stage of the journey. He was awarded Young Leader of the Year at the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Awards in 2019.
