Anna Avrimenko Mareme Sarr The International House Trust has announced the winners of two of its scholarships to attend the IATEFL conference in Liverpool in 2013.
Anna Avrimenko from Moscow and Mareme Sarr from Senegal have received the John Haycraft Classroom Exploration awards for their proposals on the use of podcasts in class and the twinning of students for community and support respectively.
The scholarships consist of a contribution towards travel costs to allow winners to attend the conference. In addition, the conference booking and a year’s membership of IATEFL is given to all winners.
The John Haycraft Classroom Exploration scholarships are part of a set of awards made by the IH Trust each year, to support language teaching and training in the UK and overseas for people who might otherwise not have access to such learning.
The scholarships which are still open are the:
- Training and Development scholarship,
- Global Reach scholarships, and the
- Brita Haycraft Better Spoken English scholarship, which is being awarded for the first time for the 2013 conference
