IH London social programme 30 June - 06 July

There is always a lot of variety on the social programme, in the first week of July we go on walking tours of London, have an evening at the ballet, play football and end it with a little Shakespeare.

01 July -  Afternoon tea

 On Tuesday 01 July we have a very British tradition of Afternoon Tea at the Hilton, which is already very popular – let them eat cake!

02 July - Walking tour of Notting Hill

Late afternoon on Wednesday 02 July we’re off for a walking tour of London’s famous Notting Hill neighbourhood.

Some of you may remember the movie of the same name or know Notting Hill’s Caribbean carnival, but there’s much more to this historic old area – including great cafes, bars and boutiques.

02 July - Inter-school football tournament

Then on Wednesday evening, we have the second game of the Bloomsbury Football Cup taking place. The International House team – comprising of students from a variety of nationalities – managed to defeat arch-rivals Kaplan 3-0 in their last fixture.

A win on Wednesday will ensure their place in the final, come and cheer them on! Ask at the social programme desk for more details.

03 July - Phantom of the Opera

Thursday 03 you can spend the evening with the Phantom of the Opera. This famous musical has been running in London’s West End almost as long as we’ve been teaching English!

04 July -  New English Ballet Theatre

On Friday 04 July, we have the opportunity to watch a real spectacle at an unbeatable price with a trip to the New English Ballet Theatre.

Their production of Tryst has had rave reviews and it is proving to be a real exhibition of athleticism and beauty.

05 July -  Shakespeare’s Anthony and Cleopatra, Globe theatre

Saturday 05 July we’ll be at the Globe theatre to see Shakespeare’s Anthony and Cleopatra.
