Summery Italian Cinema
We may well be facing the hottest day on record here in London, but there’s nothing quite like an Italian summer! We’ve picked out some great summery Italian movies filmed in some of the country’s most beautiful destinations. They’re sure to get you into that dolce vita mood!
Il Postino – filed on the stunning island of Procida in the bay of Naples. This is a heart-warming film about a postman who delivers mail to a famous poet and ultimately needs his help to woo a special lady.
Pane, Amore, E... – this hilarious 1950s comedy is set in Sorrento with the lead character played by Sofia Loren. With love triangles, mambo Italiano dancing, and spectacular scenery, what’s not to love!
Vacanze a Ischia – as the name suggests, this film it set on the island of Ischia. In this comedy we see the lives of those who have come on holiday to the island intertwine as their stories unfold.
Racconti Romani – another 1950s classic, this comedy is set in Rome and tells the hilarious tale of a robbery gone wrong. It’s set against the incredible backdrop of the Italian capital in summer – bellissimo!
