Din Tai Fung
Did you know, that Michelin starred Taiwanese restaurant Din Tai Fung in Covent Garden, has become so popular, that the restaurant have created a ‘no more queuing’ app! Guests are encouraged to download the new app before visiting and join a virtual queue. You’ll need to be within a 2km radius of the restaurant, but will then be sent a text message when a table is ready. Genius!
London’s Chinatown has a fascinating history, and a great way to explore is via Chinatown Stories – a history walking tour organised by the China Exchange. Discover the history of the Chinese community in London, and enjoy a delicious family-style Chinese lunch as part of the tour. Walks are taking place throughout the summer, and the next weekend tour is taking place on Saturday 31st August. Tickets can be booked online.
Dinner From The Silk Road
Located in Camberwell, cheap and cheerful Silk Road is always bustling with diners, owing to its delicious menu specialising in dishes from China’s Xinjiang province. From lamb skewers and steamy dumplings to spicy broths, there are so many great things on offer here. Why not head there with friends and order a few dishes to share? There is often a queue for this place as it’s so good, but put your name on the list and pop for a drink in the pub around the corner – it’s well worth the wait!
