Chinese New Year is just around the corner and we’re looking forward to seeing in the Year of the Pig on the 5th of February. London is home to the biggest Chinese New Year celebration outside of Asia, with the main event taking place in and around Trafalgar Square and China Town on the 10th of February. From the annual New Year’s Parade to stage performances of Chinese music and dance, this is a celebration not to be missed!

Sunday 3rd and Saturday 9th of February, BFI Southbank is showing a documentary by Michelangelo Antonini filmed in 1970s China, capturing both city and rural life in the country. A great opportunity to learn about the history of this vast country and an interesting, alternative way to spend a weekend afternoon.
