Social media, particularly Instagram, is a great resource for language students due to the volume and quality of language learning content and materials, including plenty for Portuguese language students. In this blog, we share 5 of our favourite Instagram accounts and creators to boost your Portuguese studies.

Kicking it off, Dri and Lud are two engaging teachers who share daily grammar lessons and videos teaching you essential vocabulary, phrases and lingo. Watch out for their Instagram live sessions where they do a virtual 30-minute class going into more detail and answering any questions from viewers, so make sure to jump in a session to get stuck in!

 

@portuguesewithleo

Leo hosts a popular YouTube channel and podcast about the Portuguese language, culture and history, but he is also worth a follow on social media too. On Instagram, he also posts regular bitesize language content for learners of all abilities, including lots of videos teaching you local sayings and colloquialisms used by Lisboans.

 

@anitasportugueselessons

Suitable for learners of all abilities, Anita creates videos using relevant vocabulary and handy phrases in context on a variety of themes. Follow her to pick up new words and sayings while you’re scrolling through your feed and your Portuguese will improve without realising it!

 

@learneuportuguese

Mia has over 10 years of teaching experience, and she shares her expertise and knowledge on her Instagram account. She provides helpful guides and explanations for beginners, including lots of pronunciation tips and tongue twister activities to help students with their spoken Portuguese.

 

@thaliportuguese

Similar to Mia, Thali is a young Brazilian teacher who provides regular videos teaching learners of all abilities essential Portuguese phrases and grammar. Her content is engaging, easy-to-follow and broken down nicely to help students understand and learn quickly.
