Top 5 K-Dramas on Netflix

October 6, 2022October 12, 2022

by Ted Curtis

Netflix is home to SO many fantastic K-dramas. From cheesy rom-coms to spine-tingling thrillers, it has such a wide range of series for Korean students to enjoy. Not only can they be a great source of entertainment, but also they can prove to be a valuable learning resource for students. Kicking back and tuning in to a K-drama could boost your speaking and pronunciation skills, teach you essential vocabulary and slang, and enhance your comprehension too. In this blog, we share 5 of our favourite K-dramas to get you started:

Crash Landing on You (사랑의 불시착)

While you’re snuggled up on your sofa with a nice cuppa tea on a crisp Sunday morning, why not binge Crash Landing on You. While paragliding, a South Korean woman hits some turbulent conditions and crash lands on the other side of the border. Found in a tree by a North Korean army officer, they fall in love but their relationship is put to the test by the disputes between their countries.

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (사이코지만 괜찮아)

Not your typical K-Drama, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay follows an unusual romance story between a community health worker at a psychiatric ward and a children’s book author who have both fallen short in their pursuit of love. The pair get closer and slowly begin to heal each other’s emotional wounds as the truth behind their troubling pasts comes out.

Squid Game (오징어 게임)

Hundreds of in-debt players accept a strange invitation to compete in a series of children’s games. Trapped with no escape, they must complete 6 deadly tasks for a chance to win the prize of $45 billion, but if they fail it could cost them their lives. Squid Game is a spine-tingling, suspenseful series that grabbed headlines and worldwide attention when it came out last year. Series 2 is on the way and we cannot wait!

All of Us Are Dead (지금 우리 학교는)

When a high school turns into a zombie infested campus after a science experiment went terribly wrong, friends become worst enemies and trapped students must fight their way out of this hellhole. All of Us Are Dead has become one of the hottest K-dramas of 2022 so far. Expect plenty of gore, shocks, drama and light comedy in this binge-worthy thriller!

Vincenzo (빈센조)

Returning to his homeland, Korean-Italian mafia lawyer, Vincenzo, brings his past back with him and isn’t afraid to stand up against powerful conglomerates and adversaries. Be sure to expect plenty of action-packed drama and plot-twists in Vincenzo.
