The Distance Delta allows trainees to boost their qualifications and elevate their teaching career from anywhere in the world. In this blog, we’ll be looking at some of our past graduates, how they enjoyed the course, and how studying the Distance Delta has changed their life!
Roman is originally from Georgia, but is based in Amsterdam and is a Dutch national.
“I am a participant of various IH London courses that took place from 2018 to 2020. Specifically, I have completed the following modules such as: Teaching IELTS Speaking, Reading, Writing, Listening Course, followed by Practical Teacher and Language Development, Current Trends – Methodology and Implementation, Technology for Language Teachers, and finally DELTA Module 1.
All the above-mentioned outstanding courses helped me become a very effective and popular teacher/lecturer and trainer. For example, IELTS comprehensive online course provided practical, indepth score-raising strategies and tips for developing of four skills in various Academic Training modules. These parts were systematically developed, analysed and practised in each lesson with personalised, one-to-one support from an experienced IELTS teacher. This course helped me to gain a quick and deep insight into what type of training students need and how the academic performance could be improved.
Afterwards, I continued my following CPD courses on a face-to-face basis: I have successfully completed three courses at IH London during my unforgettable sojourn in the hot summer of 2018 in magnificent London! Finally, I have completed my DELTA Module 1 with the help of both splendid IH tutors and a personal IH tutor with Pass with Merit. This course has been a turning point both for my career and further professional development. Although the design of this Module with its scope and application states that it is theoretical in its character, in fact it was a wonderful and practical springboard for two other university courses that I completed with Distinction.
Owing to IH London courses, I could quickly find very interesting and rewarding jobs both in Tbilisi, Georgia and Bari, Italy. Aiming to pursue a range of the rest of the modules for continuous professional development, I am going to register myself on Module Two DELTA starting on 16 of August and some other modules for my CPD in the near future. These excellent courses of IH London with its comfortable online modes of delivery suit my professional life, whose diverse extensive programmes enable me to implement a thorough and advanced scope of application of the main trends and central issues of the language education in practice.”

Gareth Jon Evans is British, recently he has been based in both Saudi Arabia and Vietnam.
I’d only been teaching 3 years before I completed my first DELTA module, so it felt going from zero to hero in the classroom. The amount of knowledge I got from just Module 1 has given me great confidence to teach anything anywhere. I’m looking forward to all the possibilities it will unlock in the future. Keep up the good work Distance DELTA team.

Filip Bigos is British and at the moment he is living in Milan, Italy.
“The Distance Delta team had done an excellent job preparing me for the exam. The resources were concise, yet detailed enough, the exam techniques tried and tested, and the feedback personalised. This made sure I did well in the exam, it gave me solid foundations for my M2, and my success in the exam has also given me the opportunity to contribute to some ELT journals. I couldn’t recommend the Distance Delta course more!”
Attached are a couple of pictures as well – of my revision cards as well as a snap from when I was revising.
I’ve also shared my tips on how to succeed in the exam in article which you can find here.

Lidia is from Ukraine:
In 2019 I completed the Distance Delta Integrated Programme and passed the assessment successfully (triple merited).
It was really hard work for me (paradise for a workaholic like myself), and at times I struggled and felt stressed out, but in the end I found the experience really rewarding and beneficial both for my everyday teaching and for my career.
I am now Adults Coordinator and Higher Teacher (English and Exams), British Council Ukraine.
New horizons, new skills and new opportunities are ahead of me.
I have to say huge Thank You again and again to the Distance Delta team. You are all great professionals who are always ready to share your expertise and the wealth of knowledge!
Wagner is originally from Brazil, but studied his Delta Module 1 in Auckland, New Zealand:
“The test itself pushed me to my limits. I had to read about 6 books in less than 3 months, so that I would be ready for the exam. I learnt a lot more about teaching, and the support I had from Delta tutor made my experience less stressful. The resources from the IH course were really useful on this journey.
I’m currently designing a pronunciation course, focussing on phonics. I’m sure this course will be useful for anyone wishing to improve their teaching skills.”
Joanne Bass is from Greater Manchester, in the UK.
Last year, I applied for the Delta Module 1 course with The Distance Delta at IH London and was really thrilled to find out I had been accepted. The course was online so I could continue to work full-time, and the course was an extremely useful part of my professional development. Thankfully, I passed the exam in December and then decided to enrol for the Delta Module 3 programme which I am about to complete in the next couple of days for the June entry. As the modules can be taken in any order and online, the course is flexible and fits in well around other responsibilities. The course tutors on The Distance Delta are absolutely fantastic, and they provide invaluable expert guidance, feedback and support each step of the way.
I am currently working for the NHS, supporting international Doctors and nurses in passing their language proficiency exams in order to achieve their goal of becoming a registered healthcare professional in the UK. Next, I hope to take the Delta Module 2 course next year to extend my practical teaching knowledge and to eventually become fully Delta-qualified. The skills I have learnt on the Delta modules have helped to improve the quality of teaching I provide to my students, which in turn benefits their communication in the workplace, with colleagues and patients. Though the course was demanding at times, it was absolutely worth it in terms of professional development since it encourages you to reflect on your own teaching. I would encourage anyone considering taking the Delta qualification to apply to study through The Distance Delta, and to enjoy the learning experience along the way.
Olena has been teaching English for 20 years. She is from Ukraine, but is currently living and working in Sydney, Australia.
I come from Ukraine, but live and work in Sydney, Australia. I did all the three modules online: first Module 1, then Module 3 and finished off with the longest and the most valuable, in my point of view, Module 2. My biggest achievement, which I am proud of, is getting a Merit grade for ELT Management assignment in Module 3: I have never studied management before, so I worked really hard being supported by the course tutor, Sally Hirst, to get this result. Thank you, Sally.
Module 2 coincided with the infamous worldwide lockdowns and transition to online delivery in most schools, including my college, which made it impossible to teach my LSA lessons face-to-face. But probably, ‘Someone up there’ saw my distress and sent me some lovely people at International House Sydney – the school which was running their lessons in classrooms. I can’t thank enough the DOS, Aaron Clark, the head teacher, Luisa Nicolosi, and the teaching staff of IH Sydney for the incredible support and help they provided me with when allowing to teach their wonderful students! As a result, I fully experienced the joy of teaching face-to-face! Besides, I also developed a truly friendly relationship with my local tutor, Judith Baker, who is not only a dedicated teacher, but a fun person to be around
What happened next…well, to cut the long and complicated story short, after some research and conversations with people from the AMEP (Adult Migrant English Program) and TAFE, I found out that the Delta qualification gives the right to teach migrants here in Australia. This is what I have always been dreaming about – helping people adjust in a new country and contribute to the Australian society. By doing this, I hope to make a difference in these people’s lives. Thank you, DELTA!
