Best French Podcasts On Spotify

October 2, 2022October 13, 2022

by Ted Curtis

Podcasts are a brilliant resource for French language students to boost their language skills and complement their studies. Listening to a podcast a day while you’re cooking, exercising, making a coffee or running errands will go a long way. Practising little but often will really enhance your French and you will reap the rewards in no time! Here are some of our favourite French language podcasts on Spotify:

French Made Easy

As the name of the podcast suggests, the bitesize and easy-to-follow podcasts make learning French easy. The host of French Made Easy, Mathilde, teaches listeners the basics of the language, and how to speak clearly and confidently. Each episode covers topics related to French grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. Better still, you can download the lesson’s exercises after you finish listening to put into practice what you’ve just learnt.

Suitable for: Beginner Students

Speak French Avec Moi

Are you struggling with speaking French? Speak French Avec Moi releases regular podcasts teaching listeners simple and useful French for your studies or travels. The podcast will cover all the foundations of the language and teach you relevant grammar and vocabulary to help with your spoken French. You can even download free transcripts for each episode on their website.

Suitable for: Beginner Students

Coffee Break French

Got a spare half an hour from work? Tune in for the weekly Coffee Break French podcast brought to you by Radio Lingua Network. In each episode, a different topic and theme is covered, and the language difficulty varies so it’s a great podcast for learners of all abilities. Typically, the podcasts get harder throughout the season. The second season has just finished, but more episodes will come out next year.

Suitable for: Beginner – Pre-Intermediate Students

News in Slow French

Any guesses as to what this podcast is about? The News in Slow French does exactly what is says on the tin. The hosts discuss current events and talk through the latest news headlines from France and the world. The language can be quite advanced, but confident learners will pick up tons of relevant vocabulary and terminology that will come in handy.

Suitable for: Intermediate Students

Daily French Pod

The Daily French Pod, brought to you by French teachers from Paris, cover a new word, phrase or theme every day. Each episode is only a couple of minutes long, so it’s easy to learn a new piece of vocabulary used in context each day.

Suitable for: Elementary – Intermediate Students

The InnerFrench Podcast

The InnerFrench Podcast tackles a different topic and theme every episode, which can be anything from the climate crisis to the Tour de France, to pertinent issues such as racism, immigration and Islamophobia in France. The podcasts also come with a handy transcript and Hugo speaks in a very clear manner that makes it easy enough to follow along, but bear in mind that the themes and language are quite advanced.

Suitable for: Intermediate Students
