Best Portuguese Podcasts on Spotify

Podcasts are a brilliant resource for linguists to boost their language skills. Listening to a podcasts, while you’re cooking, exercising, making a coffee or whenever you have a spare 10 minutes here or there, are a great way to build up your Portuguese vocabulary and comprehension. Here are some of our favourite Portuguese language podcasts on Spotify:

 

PapoVai

With episodes every Tuesday and Thursday, the PapoVai podcast is ideal for all learners interested in putting their listening skills to the test and immersing themselves in Brazilian culture. The bitesize episodes are only a few minutes long and are perfect to listen to when you’re on the go.

Suitable for: Beginner & Elementary Students

 

Fala Gringo!

Covering all things from Brazilian culture to Portuguese language tips, Leni hosts the Fala Gringo! podcast which is a must-listen for confident students wanting to put in that extra practice outside of class. An episode is released every month and they are about 20-30 minutes long. You can also find transcripts for each episode on the Fala Gringo website to help you follow along.

Suitable for: Intermediate Students

 

Café da Manhã

Wake up to the Café da Manhã podcast for daily updates on the latest news from Brazil and around the world all in Portuguese. From Monday-Saturday, tune in for 20-minute discussions between the journalists about the headlines of the day, which would be some excellent comprehension and listening practice.

Suitable for: Pre-Intermediate & Intermediate Students

 

Portuguese with Leo

Leo always speaks in a clear and concise way, which is perfect for learners of all abilities wanting to become more confident and accustomed to the Portuguese accent. The Portuguese with Leo podcasts are always an interesting listen as he delves into Portuguese life and culture, points out the linguistic differences between European Portuguese and Brazilian and gives useful grammar pointers.

Helena has been teaching Portuguese for over 10 years and has recently delved into the world of podcasts. Her Tradutex Portuguese Lessons podcast provides fantastic learning materials and resources to help with your listening, pronunciation and speaking.
