The Access IELTS preparation course is specifically designed to help students at lower B1 level. It combines General English language development (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation) and IELTS Academic skills development (reading, writing, speaking and listening). The programme leads to our IELTS levels 1 to 3, which are suited to students with a high B1 level and onwards.

Students applying for the Access IELTS preparation course will need to take the English Level Test and a speaking assessment with a teacher to ensure you are the correct level.

Is the exam fee included in the course fees?
No. You can view upcoming exam dates and fees on the International House Trust Assessment website. However, our IELTS Study & Test package does include the exam in the course fee.
How can I book the IELTS exam?
You can book the exam from our website or talk to a member of the Exams Department team at IH London by emailing ielts@ihlondon.com.
Can you guarantee I will be able to pass the exam if I book this course?
All students enrolling on an exam preparation course must sit an entrance test to ensure you are ready to begin your preparation. However, we do not guarantee results in the IELTS exam as this depends on many factors.
Can I attend a trial lesson?
You can attend the one hour focus class on request.
I have taken IELTS in the past, which course is suitable for me?
This depends on your own learning goals, needs and time frame. We have a variety of courses that might suit you. You can share your previous IELTS exam score with us and we can make a recommended study plan and discuss with you.
