Will I get a certificate? Yes. Upon successful completion and meeting the attendance requirement, you will receive an IH London Certificate of Achievement. 

I work in a global company—will I learn to communicate with people from different countries? Absolutely. We take a Global Spanish approach, introducing key cultural differences across the Spanish-speaking world so you can communicate effectively with colleagues and clients from Spain and Latin America. 

I’m nervous about speaking in front of others. Will I be forced to present? Not at all. Lessons include plenty of pair and small-group work in breakout rooms, allowing you to practise in a safe, low-pressure environment. Our teachers ensure everyone participates at their own pace. 

What if my level is slightly higher than A1.1? If you studied some Spanish previously (for example at school), we recommend contacting our academic team for a quick informal level check before booking. 

How much self-study is recommended? To get the most out of the course, we suggest around 60 minutes of review per week, such as revising lesson slides, completing short exercises, or listening to audio materials.

Do I need to have completed A1.2? It is not strictly required if you have existing beginner knowledge, but we highly recommend it for those who want a structured pathway. If you are unsure of your level, please contact us for a brief level assessment. 

What happens if I miss a class due to work? We understand the demands of a professional schedule. While we encourage 100% attendance for the best results, all lesson summaries, slides, and digital resources are uploaded to SharePoint within 24 hours of the class. 

 

Will I get a certificate? Yes. Upon successful completion and meeting the attendance requirement, you will receive an IH London Certificate of Achievement. 

I work in a global company—will I learn to communicate with people from different countries? Absolutely. We take a “Global French” approach. While we teach the foundations, we highlight the most important cultural differences between the various French dialects. You will learn to navigate these differences with confidence so you can communicate effectively, regardless of where your client or colleague is based. 

I’m nervous about speaking in front of others. Will I be forced to present? Not at all. Our lessons focus on “low-stakes” practice. You will spend a significant amount of time in breakout rooms (usually in pairs or groups of three), which creates a safe, supportive environment to practise your French. You will build your confidence gradually, and our teachers are experts at ensuring everyone participates at their own pace. 

What if my proficiency is slightly higher than A1.3? If you have studied a little French in the past (e.g., at school), we strongly recommend contacting our academic team for a quick, informal level check before booking. We want to ensure you are in the right group so that the pace is comfortable and the content is relevant to your current needs. 

How much time should I set aside for self-study outside of the 75-minute lessons? To get the most out of this 8-week course, we recommend setting aside roughly 60 minutes per week for independent review. This might include reviewing the lesson slides, completing a short exercise, or listening to the provided audio clips.

Is this course face-to-face or online? This is an online course taught live on Zoom. 

Do I need to install anything to join the course? You’ll need access to Zoom (app or browser). We’ll send joining details before the course starts. 

What do I need for the online lessons? A stable internet connection, and a device with a microphone and camera (headphones recommended). You may also want a notebook for quick notes. 

How will I receive the course materials? All course materials are shared via SharePoint, with access provided in your welcome email 24 hours before the course starts. 

Is there a coursebook? No fixed coursebook is required — your teacher will provide targeted materials and resources for the course.
