Korean Level 2 | Evenings

Korean Level 2 is an Elementary course designed for students who have already completed a Beginners course or have a basic foundation in Korean, and can recognise and use the Korean alphabet (Hangeul). It is recommended that you have previously studied Korean Level 1 or a course of at least 12 class hours.
Our Korean language classes take place at our school in Covent Garden with a qualified, experienced teacher and fellow students. Our language classes at IH London are dynamic and interactive as the emphasis is on spoken communication, which is achieved through lots of group work and role-plays. At the same time, there is systematic work on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, so that you can improve on all aspects of the language. Your teacher speaks in the target language throughout, so that you can refine your comprehension and listening skills.

By the end of your course, you should be able to:
– Talk about the names of common items and objects.
– Request and purchase items in a shop politely.
– Describe what you and others are currently doing.
– Use vocabulary related to school supplies (학용품).
– Identify and use terms for daily goods (일상 생활용품).
– Use a range of active verbs (동사 1) to describe actions.
– Express existence or non-existence using N이/가 있어요 / 없어요 (“there is/are,” “there isn’t/aren’t”).
– Identify and describe objects using 이거는 / 그거는 / 저거는 N이에요 / 예요 (“this/that/that over there is N”).
– Make polite requests using N 주세요 (“please give me N”).
– Connect nouns using the conjunctive particles N하고 N, N과/와 (“and”).
– Use the standard polite verb ending V-아요/어요 appropriately.
– Mark objects correctly using the object particle N을/를.
– Understand and demonstrate knowledge of general etiquette in Korea (2), including polite expressions and behavior in everyday interactions.
