In addition to being trained, qualified and experienced English teachers, our trainers have many years’ professional experience including: contacts throughout the legal, financial and commercial world, experience working with top management, gaining MBA and other business qualifications, knowledge of many world languages, experience of living in many countries and many have run their own businesses.

Charles Lowe

Charles has been working for IH London since 1975, with breaks for teaching in Sudan, Poland, Japan, Spain, and Morocco. His professional roles include: teacher, teacher trainer, business English teacher, business English teacher trainer, school director, and lecturer at London University.

Melanie Bryant

Melanie has been teaching for 27 years. Her wide-ranging experience includes delivering specialist courses in marketing, human resources, management, finance, journalism, politics & diplomacy and English for veterinary surgeons. In her classes at IH London, she has taught international sportsmen, CEOs of large multinationals, famous actors and TV presenters, as well as highly motivated, bright young
professionals on the career ladder. She is a trainer on the English UK IBET teacher training scheme.

Nick Hamilton

Nick has been teaching since 1983 and has taught and trained teachers in Germany, Turkey, Poland, Lithuania, China, Russia, and the UK. He has an MA in Modern Languages from Edinburgh University and the RSA Diploma in English Language Teaching. Over the years he has spoken at many ELT conferences, specifically about Business English, and he co-wrote the book Five Minute Activities for Business English, published
by Cambridge University Press.

Ozlem Birgul Yuges

Ozlem had an MA from the University of Westminster and is studying for her PhD in Trainer Training in Intercultural Communication. She has been teaching English since 2007 and has been with The Executive Centre since 2017. She holds multiple language training certificates including TEFL, TESOL, CELTA and DELTA Module Two, Developing Professional Practice. She is also a Culture and International Business English Trainer. In addition to teaching, she also works for ICC-Europe’s Language Association.

Sally Blanco

Sally runs the Occupational English Test (OET) course at IH London for doctors, nurses and pharmacists, having 20 years prior experience in
the pharmaceutical industry. Sally joined IH London in 2010 and has taught specialist English courses in a diverse range of sectors, including law, HR, retail, management, marketing, and design. Sally has a passion for teaching exam classes, including OET and IELTS. She is student centred and is an advocate of using technology to help optimise students’ learning.

Alan Cargyl

Alan has been an academic manager in both International House Poland and at the Executive Centre. In his twenty years at the Executive Centre, Alan has been a frequent speaker at Business English conferences. He is a trainer of teachers in Business English, an OET medical English trainer and is experienced in delivering specialist courses in every field ranging from marketing, HR and finance to journalism, politics and diplomacy and law.

Chris Russell Balkwill

With an MA in Modern Languages from Cambridge University, Chris worked first as a radio presenter overseas, including Germany. Back in London in the 1990s, now with an MBA, he set up a broadcast satellite company from scratch before selling it.

Chris has served as Director and Chair, including at AMBA in the 2010s. He now works in-company and at IH with professionals to improve their communication skills.

Nichola Green

Nichola has been teaching for over 35 years, having joined the International House, London in 2006. She has a broad range of experience in teaching exam preparation classes, such as IELTS and/or Cambridge exams (from PET to CPE), as well as teaching Business and professional English. She has worked extensively both in the UK, and around the world, teaching all age groups and levels. Nichola’s expertise is in teaching Business English and IELTS, with extensive knowledge in both areas. She holds BA Hons in French and Russian. 

Ezgi Murtaza

I am a Business English Teacher making use of a personalized approach in one-to-one instructions, through paying attention to neurodiversity and needs of students. Having worked in Executive Research before, I am capable of identifying the focus areas depending on the sector and seniority of our clients. I use numerous materials from Business English books to Business articles and authentic conference talks. 

David Marks

David Marks has been teaching with IH London since 2018 when he secured his CELTA. Since then he has taught general and business English to adults and young learners. Before taking up teaching David worked for a number of leading IT companies as a salesman and sales manager. In 2005 he gained an MBA from Kingston Business School. In 2012 he was a Visiting Lecturer at Westminster University, delivering their first ever course in Sales Management and Personal Sales. 

Nathalie Pinole

After completing TESOL qualification in 2017, Nathalie started her career teaching General English and Academic Writing skills in Toronto, Canada. Since returning to the UK, she has worked in a range of teaching roles in both the private and public sector, working with students from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds. As well as teaching General English, Nathalie specialises in Business English for professionals, Academic Writing, and IELTS exam preparation classes. She aims to create a comfortable and positive learning environment, with classes that meet the specific needs of each student. Through this, she has helped many students achieve their personal and professional language goals. Nathalie holds an MSc from The LSE and has recently completed the first module of DELTA qualification.
