The Tate Modern is currently exhibiting a German collection from the era of the Weimar Republic: Magic Realism – Art in Weimar Germany. This intriguing collection displays paintings from a number of German artists including Otto Dix, George Grosz, Albert Birkle and Jeanne Mammen, and showcases the genre’s characteristic mixture of modern realism and fantasy.
