FAQ
Yes. Students have access to Wi-Fi throughout the school during the programme.
Registration takes place on Sunday afternoons, giving students time to settle in before starting their first day.
London’s main attractions are quieter in the morning, which makes excursions more enjoyable and easier to navigate.
Lessons take place in the afternoon so teachers and students can build learning from the morning’s experiences and explore what they’ve seen and learnt around the city.
Most attractions are within walking distance of the school.
For longer journeys, students use the Tube or bus, and an Oyster card is provided for public transport.
Students are accompanied by Activity Leaders during excursions and by teachers during lessons.
Staff are also present to supervise lunch breaks, ensuring students are supported and cared for throughout the school day.
Support includes daily pastoral check-ins, ongoing teacher encouragement, and Group Leaders helping students during excursions and break times.
Teachers are trained in SEN support and pastoral care, with additional welfare officers available when needed.
Teachers monitor progress through daily observation, classroom participation, confidence checks, and weekly project outcomes involving presentations and teamwork.
Students receive informal feedback focused on communication, confidence, teamwork, and participation.
Every student receives an IH London Young Learner Certificate, showing participation, confidence development and a CEFR-linked progress description.
Each student also receives a personal report written by their teacher, outlining development in all four skills.
Students are expected to attend 100% of lessons and excursions.
IH London may withhold certificates if attendance falls below this level without prior notice of absence.
The programme includes one full-day excursion and five half-day excursions each week, all included in the course fee.
