With over 11 years at International House London, Shema has progressed through a number of commercial roles and now serves as Head of Sales & Customer Experience. She leads the school’s global sales strategy, driving student recruitment, partnerships, and growth across markets worldwide. Throughout her career, Shema has worked with educational agents, universities, governments, and corporate partners to strengthen International House London’s global presence and deliver an outstanding customer experience. Passionate about building long-term relationships, she enjoys identifying commercial opportunities, developing innovative solutions, and working collaboratively with colleagues to help students from around the world achieve their educational goals through International House London’s diverse portfolio of programmes and services. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and exploring cultures.

Yan Ye

Business Development Manager (Asia)

She speaks Mandarin and English, and works closely with students, agents, schools and institutional partners across mainland China, Taiwan and the wider Asian market. Yan has been with IH London for almost ten years and has supported a wide range of projects, including adult English, Young Learners, Teacher Training, school and university groups, corporate training and tailor-made programmes. She enjoys understanding different needs and helping each student or partner find the most suitable study solution at IH London.
 
Yan says: “What I enjoy most about my role is helping different ideas become real projects. Every student, partner and market is different, and I love creating the right study experience with them.”

Luisa Proto

Business Development Manager (Europe)

Luisa studied Foreign Languages at University and has always been passionate about cultural exchange, especially French and English.

She worked for ten years in Ireland helping international students to settle in and get ready for study and work experiences abroad. She then moved to London and has always worked in education. She joined IH London at the start of 2019. 

Luisa is Italian, and also speaks fluent English and basic French.

Kamel Koufi

Head of Africa & MENA

Kamel has over 10 years’ experience promoting Higher Education institutions and courses, including working for UK Trade and Investment and a leading global Higher Education pathway provider. He joined IH London in May 2018.  Kamel can speak English, French, Arabic and Berber/Tamazight.

Julija Glusakova

Business Development Manager Europe & CIS

Julija has worked in the international education sector since 2013 and joined IH London in 2019. She has extensive experience across the full range of IH London programmes, supporting individual students, groups, and corporate clients. Her broad knowledge enables her to guide students in choosing the most suitable course and provide ongoing support throughout their learning journey.
In addition to English, Julija speaks Russian, Latvian, and some Italian. Having been an international student herself, she understands the challenges and excitement of studying abroad. She is passionate about language learning and is committed to helping every student achieve their educational goals while making the most of their experience at IH London.

Jamie Chalk

Head of Business Development - Asia

Jamie studied English at university and has worked in sales, teaching and training for a number of years. He undertook his CELTA at IHL and speaks Korean and some Filipino. Jamie has taught English in Korea, the UK and the Philippines, and his previous experience includes student recruitment for UK higher education and leading L&D training workshops in Southeast Asia.

Naimah Zerrouk

Sales Executive

Naimah holds a Masters in International Business and has worked in sales across various industries for over 6 years. She has completed her CELTA at IH London, helping her blend her teaching experience with her role in supporting customers with their course inquiries. In addition to English, Naimah speaks French and Arabic.
