Why Distance Delta?

February 10, 2023February 10, 2023

by Rebecca Holmshaw

A Delta can be exciting and daunting all at once, especially when studying remotely. With many options, it can be difficult to know where is the best place to study this transformative qualification. At the Distance Delta, we do things a little differently. So we wanted to take some time to dive into what makes the Distance Delta unique.

Here’s our thoughts…

Support:

Your dedicated course coordinator is there to guide you through your studies and support you when life throws you the unexpected.
Our team of online course tutors are very experienced Delta tutors who know how to support, many of them are Cambridge Delta examiners and item writers.
We have a specialised experienced admin who see you through your Delta journey.
Trainees join an online community of teachers across the globe to share ideas and support each other.
We also provide career development and training for senior teachers through our Local Tutor system, to make sure you are getting the highest level of support from all involved.
As we’ve been teaching the Delta for decades, we have plenty of experience with international teachers in a variety of contexts across the world.
We provide our own unique, specifically designed course materials covering all aspects of the Cambridge Delta modular syllabus as well as an online library to support your research.

In short, from introduction to the Cambridge Delta Modules to arranging your assessment with Cambridge, we take you all the way through your Delta journey. We’re here to support you along every step.

Flexibility:

With the Distance Delta you can choose to study standalone modules or all the modules together.
With remote training you can choose the times and dates that you study.
You can continue working during the course and try out what you’ve learned with your students so that it feeds into your practice to support your professional development.
As all our courses are part time you have time to assimilate and process all the input and feed it into your coursework.

Basically, we’ve made the Distance Delta as flexible as possible so that teachers can tailor their Delta journey to suit their needs, and balance their study around their life.

Expertise:

We are the largest Delta centre in the world.
We have over 40 years’ experience in proving distance preparation for the Cambridge Diploma.
Over 5000 teachers have gained their qualification with us now.
Our expert training team comprises Cambridge Module 2 Assessors and Moderators and Cambridge Examiners for Modules 1 and 3.
We are the pioneers – we were the first centre to gain Cambridge approval to run distance Delta courses.
The Distance Delta is a joint collaboration between International House London and the British Council, two trusted institutions that hold themselves to the highest standards.
We are one of a very few centres worldwide to offer the Module 3 in ELT Management option with its separate Management syllabus and specialised materials.

Simply put, you can relax knowing that the support, expertise and training you’ll be receiving from the Distance Delta team is of the highest standard.

But, don’t just take our word for it. Check out Part 1 and Part 2 of our interviews with Distance Delta graduates to hear about their experience with the course.

If you want to learn more about the Distance Delta, or the Delta in general, check out the brand new Delta Podcasts.
Each 10-15 minute long podcast takes an in-depth look at a particular part of the Delta course, with our expert Delta trainer Nick Witherick. Stay tuned for the Orientation Course episode and an episode about life after Delta, both coming very soon!
